Sensors for vibration and speed monitoring
Unbalance tolerance violations are detected immediately so that consequential damage can be avoided (e.g. expensive repairs to spindles).
How it works:
- A vibration sensor is positioned at the headstock.
Fixing either with magnetic base or screwed.
This sensor detects the vibration caused by the unbalance.
- A speed sensor (optical, magnetic or inductive) acquires one pulse per spindle revolution and calculated the speed.
- With the speed sensor signal the unbalance measurement is filtered such that only the spindle unbalance is measured and monitored. That means the measuring result cannot be corrupted by external influences.
The tolerance limit values can be adjusted. If they are exceeded, the unit sends an alarm signal to the control.
It is also possible to use speed acquisition to send an alarm signal to the control if the speed is too low or too high.
